A core objective of our research was therefore to examine how anatomo-functional deficits can be related to cognitive behavioral impairment in age-related neurodegenerative diseases. With this aim, we have applied advanced neuroimaging techniques in order to understand the etiology and pathophysiology of CNS disorders as well as the conditions associated with their expression. Concerning imagery techniques, we have implemented the multimodal imaging approach coupling morphological and functional MRI techniques for large cohorts with several hundred of subjects. Actually two cohorts of elderly are in process: 1- a population-based sample screened prospectively the emergence of imaging abnormalities and cognitive-behavioral impairments (330 subjects), as part of the 3City cohort (Montpellier, Bordeaux, Dijon);2- a population-based sample living in the rural community of Gironde (300 subjects from AMImage study).
